- Job screeners had doubts about Snowden’s resume … But, Booz Allen hired him anyway. (Certainly no day would be complete without Snowden news.)
- And … The firm that screened Snowden was already under investigation … Sounds about right. (BTW … we’re not even going to get into the continuing game of “Where’s Snowden” or its BFF “Who’s Gonna Extradite Him” until there’s some kind of resolution.)
- Better yet, Snowden claims he specifically sought the position with Booz Allen so he could steal files and information … That according to an interview with the South China Morning Post, presumably before he fled to Moscow. Snowden received his top secret clearance from USIS (Slogan: Ensuring a safe future today) How’d you like to be the spokesperson for that company. Talking Points Memo provides a rundown of Snowden’s work history. No one knows if he went from security job to security job, stocking up on classified information like a squirrel filling his cheeks with nuts. Stay tuned.
- Lawmakers and labor groups work to overhaul the federal blue collar pay scale … Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-Pa., has introduced the 2013 Locality Pay Equity Act to end pay disparities between workers doing the same job.
- A Republican House bill’s been introduced that would require agencies to fire federal workers who invoke their 5th Amendment rights … Of course, such a bill would be ripped to shreds in the courts – that darn Bill of Rights!
- Federal labor groups join the ranks of some Congressmen in support of capping contractor pay at the Vice Presidential level … Such a cap would generally only affect large contractors – you know – the ones with the large lobbying budgets.
